TEACHING
I started teaching a couple years ago when I was given pre-academic courses at the “G. Donizetti ” Conservatory in Bergamo; until, last year, I won the competition for the chair of violin. So my students increased and with them my responsibilities too.
A student is a great responsibility, whatever their age, we teachers have the obligation to pass on our knowledge by deepening them. The fact that some students are older than me does not make me uncomfortable, because in front of the music we are all the same.
Certainly it is not easy to be able to reconcile the work of a teacher with that of a concert performer. You have to sacrifice a lot of time, recover hours of study and work hard, but it is not a waste of time. Students are teaching me a lot in my path. Thanks to them I had to rationalize many technical and musical aspects that came to me naturally - but obviously we are not all the same - and also they are enriching me a lot as a person.
Not all students learn the same way, so there is also a study on my part on how to deal with a lesson, the various types and the different dynamics. This is why I try to keep up with new teaching techniques and other study methods.
I want my students to have the chance to have a great teacher, like mine were for me (and thanks to them I am here today). One thing is certain: after those two days a week the teaching job does not end at all.
For me it is a great honor to have students to whom I entrust my knowledge and even more to be able to learn from them. I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher at the Conservatory and the fact that at just 18 I started a career in this field too, makes me very proud.
Ho iniziato ad insegnare un paio di anni fa quando mi furono affidati i corsi pre-accademici al Conservatorio “G. Donizetti” di Bergamo; fin quando, lo scorso anno, vinsi il concorso per la cattedra di violino. Così i miei allievi aumentarono e con loro anche le mie responsabilità.
Un allievo è una grande responsabilità, di qualunque età esso sia, noi insegnanti abbiamo l’obbligo di tramandare le nostre conoscenze approfondendole. Quindi il fatto che alcuni allievi siano più grandi di me non mi crea disagio perché davanti alla musica siamo tutti uguali.
Di certo non è semplice conciliare il lavoro di insegnate con quello di concertista. Bisogna sacrificare molto tempo, recuperare ore di studio e impegnarsi al massimo, ma non è tempo perso. Gli studenti mi stanno insegnando molto in questo mio percorso. Grazie a loro ho dovuto razionalizzare molti aspetti tecnici e musicali che a me venivano naturali, ma ovviamente non siamo tutti uguali e mi stanno arricchendo molto anche come persona.
Non tutti i ragazzi apprendono alla stessa maniera, quindi c’è uno studio anche da parte mia sul come affrontare una lezione, i vari caratteri e le varie dinamiche. Per questo cerco di tenermi al passo sulle nuove tecniche di insegnamento e altri metodi di studio.
Voglio che i miei ragazzi abbiano la possibilità di avere un grande insegnante come lo sono stati i miei per me e grazie ai quali sono qui oggi. Una cosa è certa: il lavoro di insegnante non termina dopo quei 2 giorni a settimana.
Per me è un grande onore avere allievi a cui affidare il mio sapere e lo è ancor di più poter imparare da loro. Ho sempre sognato di diventare un insegnante al Conservatorio e il fatto che a soli 18 anni abbia iniziato una carriera in tale ambito mi rende molto orgoglioso.
